A first feature film by a very unique filmmaker.

The Wandering is an independent feature film set in the west of Ireland. Liza Bolton Directs and co-writes with Mayo based writer Martin Keaveney.

'Beckett meets Mad Max' in a most original story telling from a fresh new voice in film making. A metaphysical world, a philosophy, a journey.

This is a film that invites you to immerse yourself in the imagery and the journey. It is brooding, ominous and mythical. The landscape features in its epic scale and use here and the figures in the landscape remind us of how fleeting, how fragile our time is.

200 years after the Great Fail and the world has become unknown again. Exiled from their homeland because of their Father’s foolish choices, brothers Cathal and Cet search in the wilderness for the mythical Meave who they believe can help them regain their lost territory and make their mark on the world. This is a world where nihil fit ex nihilo - nothing comes from nothing. Everything is at stake.

Emerging Irish actors Philip Coffey and David Nolan put in powerful performances as the brothers Cathal and Cet.
